Description
In der Geschichte Nymphenburgs spielt das majestätische Wappentier im doppelten Sinn eine Rolle: Zum einen ist es eine Reminiszenz an die bayerische Kultur und den Standort der Manufaktur
The international career of the Nymphenburg animal figures began at the beginning of the 20th century
It serves to improve diplomatic relations and supports family planning
The first by giving their figures a lifelike representation while Scherf created animals with an idiosyncratic character and unique colours
Elefant Rüssel aufwärts Perl Weiß In der Geschichte Nymphenburgs spieltThis elephant named Edward, only 24 cm high, has his trunk raised to the sky. A design by August Ghring from 1936 is one of the manufactory's most successful models. Since 2002 it has been produced not only in underglaze painted but also in bisque porcelain; the matt black surface accentuates the detailed figure particularly well.
